Introduction

COVID-19 Pandemic brought upheaval and changes to our daily lives and shook us from the root. COVID-19 crises have evolved us at various fronts, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, physically and beside the material gain, we are focusing more on mental and physical health.

According to a new WHO survey, 93% of countries worldwide has disrupted mental health condition during Covid-19 Pandemic. Global leaders, celebrities, industrialists, advocates are coming on one platform to promote awareness and health budgets to deal with mental health.

Response towards COVID 19 Pandemic

  • Fear of getting Covid infection and death
  • Avoid going for diagnostic and hospitals due to the fear of getting an infection
  • Isolation, loss of jobs and income
  • Encouraging use of excess alcohol and drug because of loneliness and depression
  • Limited ability to exercising because of fatigue that causes Dizziness and light-headedness
  • Insomnia and sleep disturbances

According to survey conducted by WHO, over 60% of world population were reported with mental health imbalances. Children and adolescents were at high risk (72%), older adults (70%), and women were at low risk comparatively (61%). Parents and children, adolescents, young, adults and elderly, all are feeling stressed and worried.

  • Children and adolescents are feeling the strain home confinement and isolation away from schools and friends.

How to deal with different mental health situation?

  • Parents should deal with the situation calmly and wisely. Patiently answer all of the child's questions to show interest and involvement. Share story, do art and craft activity together, play indoor game to replace the boredom and encourage them to positive and healthy aspects of life.
  • Elderly and disabled people depended on family members for their daily needs and physical isolation among family members causes distress and mental trauma in them. Family should do some engaging daily activities together.
  • Health workers, caregivers, doctors and nurses working for long hours at the high risk of exposure, away from their family and dealing with dire mental fatigue, loss of smell and taste, aggression and anxiety daily. They need short break for refreshment and regain energy to work efficiently.

Good mental health is the priority to lead a healthy and prosperous life!
